Last year, RWS donated 2 large art posters to help fundraise for the film “A Life Less Empty”, a feature length film by Rueben MartellNadya is excited to take on the role of Director of Photography, working alongside Producer/ Writer/ Director Rueben Martell. The production is coming together with filming commencing in May 2010 (next month) and is anticipated to be released January or February 2011.

Produced by Chelsa Riel and Rueben Martell, “A Life Less Empty” is a contemporary Native love story that focuses on the life of Simon, a Native man stuck in a life on the reserve that’s become comfortable. The every day life is him dealing with his friend’s problems and troubles, giving no time to him dealing with his own demons. When he meets Karen, a university student bent on making her life better, he sees that it is possible to make the transition from being without hope, to making things better for himself and the people around him.

The film stars: Nathaniel Arcand, Brandy Seenie, Dakota House, Lorne Cardinal, and Matthew Strongeagle

RWS strongly believes in supporting Native artists & endeavours whenever possible, and is hosting two auctions for the donated posters. All proceeds from both auctions Auction 1, and Auction 2 will go towards the production of the film. For updates visit A Life Less Empty on Facebook.
